http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/bayonetta According to a lnk on a CNET site, metacritic is already hyping this to be the highest rated game this year. Which got me thinking:

1. Isn't this really early to be deciding the best game of 2010? It's been a week now.

2. Okay, yes it's got good scores, but remember: #1 and #3 rated games of all time (GameRankings) are getting squeals this year. One of which (Super Mario Galaxy 2) is a direct squeal. The other is Zelda with Motion+, both are sure to be top-10 contenders for all-time, not just this year.

And... Just remembered that there's a new Metroid Game, which if memory serves correct is also in the top-10

3. It's not even a GotY contendor. Everyone will have forgotten about it by the end of the year, and we'll have new CoD by then, plus all the other games I mentioned that aren't FPSs.

4.It's got a nasty sibling, hard to say Bayonetta(360) is the best game this year when Sega has managed to perfectly mangle the PS3 port. Surre the 360 version is a good game, but the pitiful PS3 port just might overshadow it in the end.

Bonus Rant: Ever notice that CNET has Game FAQs, GameSpot, Game Rankings, and Meta Critic? shouldn't these be like one or two sites max?

sure but its saying so far.
and for your bonus rant, CNET is an umbrella company. they have many companies that they really don't own but are a part of thier network.
